Check Up

Happy Friday everyone! We have lots of news to pass on. Escher had his 6 month well baby check up on Wednesday. It actually is more like a 6 3/4 months checkup, but who's counting :-) Here are his latest stats:

Weight: 19.5 lbs (75th percentile)
Height: almost 30 inches (100th perc)
Head Circumference: 19 inches (100th perc)

He is just soooo tall for his age! We are having problems finding footie jammies that fit, his 12 month ones are just about too short, but the 18 months are just huge all over! It makes me a little sad that I'm already buying 12 month + clothes. At Target he is considered a big kid now, they don't have the cute infant clothes in 12 mos! The dr said that he is right on track developmentally. Escher even showed off by flirting with her, and telling her all the new sounds he makes, such as baba, dada, mama, etc. He wanted to check EVERYTHING out, like her stethascope and the instrument that they use to check eyes and ears. He took his shots like a champ. We felt really bad though; his top teeth are working through, he has had a wretched cold, and then he got his vaccines on top of all of that! He is still coughing and really stuffy, but we hope that goes away in the next few days! We are going to work on getting more green vegetables into him, so I'm going to make him some green beans and maybe peas this weekend. Matt and I were talking this morning, and even though he is sick and its harder for him to sleep, he is still really handling it all very well. He plays so hard! Its like he wakes up in the morning ready to play and explore. I noticed yesterday that is starting to scoot backwards a little bit, which is preemtive to crawling. We need to get to baby proofing!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are hoping for some snow tomorrow. I'm going to join the rest of Virginia Beach at the grocery store today, gotta stock up just in case we are snowed in, haha!!!

Such a Big Guy!

He is such a big guy these days! We are up to solids twice a day. We just got a new high chair and when we put Escher in it, he knows something yummy is coming! He also likes to help feed himself, so we give him his own spoon :-)

One of the best toys we have is a set of plastic food. I found it at Target for $10, and Escher just loves to play with all the food! The pieces are very colorful, and they have different textures. We like to giggle about his "favorite" foods. I know he doesn't know which pieces he has, but it really cracks me up when I see him with a fried chicken leg, a crescent roll, or fries (Matt's favorites!).

Warm Weather

One day last week, the temps got up into the 60s, so we stuck Escher into the baby bjorn and walked over to the beach. It was a gorgeous day! Our little dude just took it all in. When we got back to the house, he was very quiet for several minutes, almost like he was thinking about how big his world is! These are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

New Year, New Everything!

Hi everyone! I hope the New Year has been treating you well! We have just been so busy that we haven't really had a chance to post anything. We are finally somewhat settled in our new house. We still have a few things we need to do, like finish putting up curtains, but other than that, most everything is in its place :-). Downsizing is definitely an experience... I don't think Matt or I realized how much crap we have, haha! But, it is so worth it to live this close to the ocean. We walk over there almost every day, and run the puppies. The beach is so different when it is 30 degrees and you are the only one out there for miles. It gives you a new perspective on life. We bundled up Escher one day and took him out there. I don't think he was that impressed, but I'm sure as the weather gets warmer he will really like it :-)

As for Escher, he just turned 6 months old! He is such a big boy these days. He is sitting without any assistance, he rolls ALL over the place, and he is such a talker! He just babbles on and on, and when he wakes up in the morning he talks to Floppy a lot, which is nice because it means we get another 10-15 minutes of sleep! He just finished another Wonder Weeks leap, and we could really tell a difference in him when he was done. Usually during a leap he is very distant, and it is hard to get any reaction out of him, such as smiles and giggles. But now you can just look at him and he cracks up! We always get so many comments about how he is just such a happy baby. He has adjusted to his new room very well! He has also really taken notice of the puppies. Savanna doesn't really pay him any attention, but Truman loves to sit and watch him play. I have a feeling they are going to be great friends :-)

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks! I hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend, woo hoo!!

"Our" beach, haha!

Such a big boy!

Brrrr....

I just love this picture of Savanna!!
