Favorite Pictures from Easter Weekend
Escher enjoyed a virgin strawberry daquari at surfrider. why? because grandma thought he would enjoy one, that's why. and its Easter.
My tan line is awful!
Is he laughing? Crying?
"Yeah yeah!"
One of these will be ours someday... Did you know that when Matt and I retire we plan on buying a boat and spending the golden years of our life sipping margaritas and pina coladas on tropical beaches in the Carribbean? We will be some tan old people = )
Matt caught a fish. Escher decided to check it out. "See mom? Fiiiiish!!"
"Hmm... Let's check out the fins"
"I'm not going through Mom's beach bag... I was just borrowing her chapstick! See, I'm innocent, the contents of her bag were already all over the sand when I got here!"
I love the sun. Seriously. I get very depressed when I can't be out in it.
Fishing on the beach
"ball? ball? ball?"
Riding the wave in.
"Excuse me, have you seen any easter eggs laying around? that maybe have chocolate in them? I missed a spot on my cheek"
The time finally came...
The curls that smell so sweet and look so silly first thing in the morning...
They are gone. "Really mom, do you have to take my picture while I'm eating?"
Chopped off in just a few minutes at the hair salon. "What are you looking at? Yes, I got a haircut!"
Can you tell I'm devastated? Yes, I know that it will be easier for summer. Yes, I know that it will grow back. Yes, I know that he is still my child and that it looks cute and he looks grown up. But I'm still recovering from losing those precious golden curls. It still brings tears to my eyes and I choke up a little. Like right now.
At least Escher's haircut will improve his aerodynamics. "Ready, Set, RUN!"
My Boys
These are the men in my life... They make me very happy!
Except for when they drag sand and dirt inside the house....
But even then, they are so cute I let them get away with it...
Most of the time...
Little monster...

Creativity
I have been having a lot of fun exploring the settings on my camera lately, and thought that I would post a few of the attempts that I have made at taking a “cool” shot.
Lake Gaston
“woks” and “weeeafs” in our driveway
This one is cool to me because I took it using the telephoto lens that my camera comes with. I was sitting in a chair our front pointing the camera straight up!
“woks” on the beach
Pretty neighborhood flower.
In Dad’s Shoes
“Cause I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
Then I'll be as strong as superman
We'll be just alike, hey won't we dad
When I can do everything you do”
-------Rodney Atkins
*Just to clarify Matt normally wears pants with his shoes*
Outside Play
“Chaaawk? Wawa? ah-siiiiide? chaaawk? Wawa? Woks?”
Exploring the outside has been Escher’s favorite thing to do since the weather turned warm. Every morning will fill up a bucket with water and our driveway turns into a science experiment.
Dr. Escher, PHD in MUDology
“First I need to examine my bucket for leaks”
“Then I dump some water in”
“Off to find ingredients”
“In goes a rock”
“The rock sank!”
“Bawll? Bawll?”
“Uh Oh!”
“I don’t know what happened!”
That super cute face right there totally makes up for the extra laundry that results from such messy fun!

Many breakfasts
So, how do we celebrate saturdays in the mundell household? By feeding the toddler all morning of course!
Escher started out with a lovely serving of grapes for an appetizer. He followed with a bowl of yogurt. After letting that digest, he then consumed a bowl of puffs and cheerios. Next was a plate of fresh strawberries (pictured below). Finally, he joined his parents at the table for the main course of sausage and biscuits with jelly.
I'm expecting him to grow 2 inches in the next 2 days!
