Hello everyone, we hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Did Santa come to your house, too? Santa brought Escher some blocks, a ball popper, a set of plastic food (yum!) and a Sophie Giraffe chewy toy (which, really does look like a puppy chew toy. Truman and Savanna think so too, they want Escher to share it with them!) Santa brought me a whole nights sleep, because for the first time last night, Escher slept through the whole night after his dreamfeed! AND he was UNswaddled! Woo hoo!! We are hoping that this continues, but we do know there might be a little sleep regression after our move.
Speaking of the move, we are getting ready to leave Richmond and head to the beach. The packers come tomorrow to box up our stuff, then the movers come to pack the truck on Wednesday, and then they will unpack the boxes on Thursday. We plan on driving down after the movers leave on Wednesday. This is so exciting! I do love our little house and neighborhood here so much, but I really can't complain about going to the beach. The ocean is in our backyard! Well, if you want to get technical it is in our side yard...one street over. But still ;-).
Things will be a little crazy around here, and we aren't sure when we will have our Internet hooked back up, so this might be the last post for a few days. We hope everyone has a safe and happy New Years, and we will talk to you in 2010!!!

Moving Day!
A lot has been happening the past few days! We got our moving orders. They will pack us up on the 29th, then move us on either the 30 or 31, so we will ring the New Year in in our new little home. Not only is this a New Year, but it is a new decade as well. We have a lot of "new things" in our life. A new house, a somewhat new car (the Yukon), a somewhat new baby (Escher!), a new city, and Matt has a new job. I guess you could say being a stay at home mom is a new job for me, too! We are looking forward to all of the wonderful things that 2010 is going to bring us! Our new home is a tiny 2 bedroom, 1 bath charming little beach cottage on 89th street at the North End of the beach. We can run the puppies at the beach, we can ride our beach cruisers (with the little buggy attached to the back so Escher can ride!) and the best part is we can walk to the ocean when ever we feel like it. There are sweet little trees where we can hang Escher's swing, and there is a great back porch where we can have dinner, play, and the doggies can rest. We will be selling/getting rid of a majority of our possessions that we do not use, and simplifying our lives. Our new little cottage doesn't have room for a lot of our stuff, but in a way, it makes both of us very happy to know that we are ridding ourselves of material stuff and really focusing on the things that matter; our family. We are really looking forward to warm weather and introducing Escher to the life that both Matt and I knew growing up- the ocean. We are so thankful to be able to come home and share Escher with our families. It is a lifestyle change that is a step in the right direction. And it all is going to happen in 11 days!

Happy 5 Months, Escher!
Today is Escher's 5 month birthday! Every day we just love him so much more than we did the day before, which seems impossible because we just love him so much everyday! It really blows our mind how much he has grown. His sweet, fun personality is really shining through. This next month holds a lot of changes for us, and we hope that he just rolls with the punches. We are so excited that our families get to watch him grow and really get to know him. Here are some pictures from the last few days!

Floppy
Floppy and Escher, best buds :)
If you don't know, Matt bought Floppy for me at the Las Vegas airport on the way home from getting married. He hung out on my dresser for awhile, and when Escher came we gave it to him to play with. He loves rolling around on the floor with him, and he likes to throw him around by his tail. We are pretty stoked that Escher has taken to him; there is such a fun story behind the stuffed animal. Apparently Floppy also plays a mean game of peekaboo :-)
