Escher picked the green!

Escherisms

The boy loves the beach. He always wants to wear his boardshorts and "no shirt! and no socks! with my green shoes!" The poor boy is really struggling with winter. Aren't we all!

I made pink lemonade the other day and he drank it and exclaimed, "oooh, it tastes like summer!"

We were talking about the North Pole, and how cold it was. I asked him if he would want to live there and he said, "No, I like it warm. I like summer!"

We were getting ready to read "Good Night Moon" the other night before bed and Escher says, "Oh good, that's Elly Girl's favorite." and also "Are those three bears in chairs in time out?"

Escher and I were snuggling in his bed and I went to grab Blue Elly and he said "No, put her back. She is in time out. She didn't want to share with me."

We went to Wendy's one day for lunch and we were joking that Riley wanted a Baconator. So now, Escher says, "Riley says 'I'm hungry, give me a Baconator! I'm gonna fill my diaper later!'"

Nap time

Naptime slowly turned into "rest time." "Rest time" has finally turned into "Quiet play time."

Even though "quiet play time" destroys any sort of organization in Escher's room, it was actually a great decision to let him play.

Instead of whining in his bed, or begging to watch a movie in his bed, he just plays. There are no distractions, no mom or dad or baby riley or tv.

I hear him talking to his animals, reading books and singing. It's pretty cute.

We have clean up races and Escher says "we both the winners mom! We clean up with teamwork!"

Winter beach...

I think to myself, "I can't believe this is my life."

I have two beautiful, happy kids...

a husband who loves me (and the ocean)...

and I live a block from the beach in a new house that is hopefully rat, mold, squirrel family and water leak free.

My blessings are uncountable this year. I have so much to be thankful for!

Then a kid poops or pukes on me, there is crying and screaming at the same time, and I think "I can't believe this is my life..."

Meet...

The newest member of our family. This is Elly Elly Elly.

We got Elly Elly Elly for Escher because we moved again. The giant stuffed elephant was waiting in Escher's new room when he got here.

When we asked him what he wanted to name it, he replied immediately, "Elly Elly Elly!"

Summer in November

Escher woke up one morning last week and said "it's a booful day today mommy. I want to play outside. Because it's summer! We can fill up my pool and make a watering hole! I want to wear my boardshorts. And NO SHIRT!"

Riley hates her carseat. She LOVES to be carried, so we broke down and got an Ergo baby carrier. It is good up to 45 pounds... I hope we aren't using it when she is 45 pounds though. Thats over 10 pounds more than Escher right now!
